Five Things To Try This Week

1 Jul , 2014

As we are heavily into winter now, with all its grumpy rain and decrease in temperature, I long for those summer nights and all my little summer adventures. For this reason I decided to challenge myself and do five things every week that will make me feel alive! If you are itching for a change, get down to business and get these done by the end of this weekend.

Five Challenges

1. Fix an arugula salad with strawberries and a special maple syrup dressing.

This easy salad is a treat for the taste buds with its special dressing. My full recipe was featured on Peaceful Dumpling and you can see it here. It is vegan friendly, refreshing, healthy and so very yummy!

2. Try using vintage dish cloths.

Sounds funny, I know, but they really do bring back so many memories of the time we all lived in my parents house and I had the best childhood ever!

3. Spray-paint a piece of your clothing.

Get an old t-shirt and give it “your treatment”. This project will help you release the pressure and unleash your creativity. You will get a brand new T-shirt and hopefully plenty of compliments. I got a white, plain T-shirt from the dollar store. See a tutorial here.

4. Write a love note to your loved one.

It is really easy to forget to show how you feel. Feeling grateful and not expressing it, is like wrapping up a present and not giving it. It is the same with love. It won’t matter how great, pure, sincere and honest it is, unless you give it. Show your significant other how much you love them by making a card, or writing a note yourself.

5. Make your own sugar body scrub.

I heard once that when you love yourself, you can truly love other people. I don’t agree with it entirely, but it surely helps. Show your body some love and prepare yourself this divine sugar body scrub from scratch. Your body will thank you and so will you thank me when you notice the confidence it will give you! When I tried it the first time I realized what it means to feel good in your own skin!
