Here come my first five challenges for this year!

It’s a new year and a time for us to cultivate some new, positive habits! It’s time for new challenges and I have made it my mission to keep myself stimulated and adventurous all year round! If you are not the adventurous type, don’t go away just yet! See what I came up with, besides my resolutions, because I promise you it’s more on the healthy side and not at all expensive.

5 Challenges For January

1. Start your day with hot water and 1 lemon.

– cleanses the liver;

– helps keep skin blemish-free;

and many other benefits which you can read here: It is true that if you do something for nearly three weeks it becomes you and you’ve acquired a healthy habit that will not only stick, but will truly make a difference for your mind, body and spirit!

2. Switch to a bold lipstick colour.

Or just buy a different colour for a change. It is easy to get into a routine and buy the same shades for years. There is such a huge variety out there you can choose from! It is as shame not to experiment at least a little bit. Normally I don’t even wear lipstick, just lip gloss. Since I challenged myself I purchased Lily Lolo Intense Crush Natural Lipstick. 3. Make an unexpected gift.

So what if it’s not yet Valentine’s Day? I actually like cleaning more than I like Valentine’s day! Unexpected gifts are sometimes even better and will definitely leave a lasting impression. Surprise a loved one with a small gift you either made yourself, or purchased from the local hand-made store.

4. Start reading a good book.

And, no, don’t even begin telling me about 50 Shades of Grey. I am talking about a book that has a soul. You know? That one book that just directly speaks to you and makes you feel like you want to highlight every word of it! This has nothing to do with a guilty-pleasure book, or a self-help one. If you don’t know where to find a book like that, I will share with you some of my latest finds: The Book Thief (Markus Zussak), Till We Have Faces (C.S Lewis), Down and Out in Paris and in London (George Orwell) <- this one in particular is such an eye-opener! I know most of them are probably classics, but I guess I must have been somewhere else when most people read them!

5. Go greener at home.

And, yes, I do realize I probably said this a million times already. Well, it is an important one. If you are willing to switch to a more healthy diet, why not change the way you groom yourself (like mentioned above by choosing better products) and finally, why not change your cleaning equipment stash? If you wouldn’t want to eat rubbish, or put chemicals on your face, why are you willing to inhale them? Shantelle Fawcet shared for us her seven easy ways to go green at home.
